Hell is a state of mind without the knowledge or
belief in Heaven. It does not actually exist,
except in the mind. It is not a place that you
can go to, but it is a state of being without
the presence of God in one's life.
People are told to "Go to Hell". Or that they
will "go to hell if they don't.." do such and
such. But the reality is nobody can actually
go there, it is not a place you can go to.
It is however something a person can
experience when they are without the grace,
love, and mercy of God. It is a state of being
without the acceptance of God in our lives.
So why do Preachers everywhere tell people
that they will go to hell, if they don't go to
heaven? It can be summed up in one word,
MOTIVATION. They are trying to motivate
you to seek after Heaven. Everyone knows
that FEAR is a powerful motivator. Once you
have been burned it is FEAR that keeps you
from getting burned again. So FEAR is being
used to motivate people to choose wisely,
over the right path to take, to Heaven or to
Hell. But that only works if you believe in
Hell. It is far better for a person to be motivated
for the right reasons to seek God, and to seek
the Kingdom of Heaven.
We can all see what the repercussions of
using Hell in order to scare people into going
to Heaven. Many people have turned away
from God and religion because of this
FEAR mongering that is taking place in
religion, especially in "christian" religion.
Not everyone is motivated by such tactics.
Many openly reject such tactics and as a
result may end up rejecting God because
of it. This is not a good thing, it is a bad thing.
It teaches and promotes rejection, and rebellion
among the people. Instead of striving towards
Heaven as a universal people, divided some
fall away and seek after hell. You can see it
if you look hard enough in the subculture
of these days.
There may come a time in history when people
will instead of claiming "the Devil made me do
it", they will proclaim "the Preacher made me
do it". You can already see it happening in our
music and literature.
So the next time somebody tells you
"Go to Hell", or "you are going to Hell".
Simply tell them "there is no such place,
and nobody can prove that there is."
"It's all in their head".
