The things I see happening before my eyes.
Not only in my life, but in the lives of others
too as the events of 2012 unfold around us.

I'm seeing God working directly and purposefully
in many peoples lives. Shaping them, and
molding them beyond their wildest hopes and
dreams.

Indeed, "those that have an ear, let them hear."
Cause God is talking to you directly, all you
have to do, is what he says. 2012 is going to
change the course of human history. I can feel
it, I can see it. The Millennium is right around
the bend.

How do you test if somebody is lying?
You find out if they are telling the truth.

True or False, Yes or No, it's as simple
as that.

If a Spirit lies, it's not from God. God does not
lie. He may not reveal the whole truth, but he
doesn't lie, and he is NEVER, EVER, WRONG!

I thought we were talking about, very specifically,
direct communications from God to you, let's say
-- a situation where you are using a test of some sort
to verify that it is God.

You wrote, "If a Spirit lies, it's not from God."
In in scenario under discussion, it would have to be
"If a Spirit lies, it's not God" to be pertinent.

In this scenario, what exactly would be this "Spirit"
and what exactly would be the "test"? -- bearing in mind
that this scenario takes place entirely within one
person's mind. My point is that 1 John 4 explicates
exactly what the test is, and it only makes sense
if this test refers only to living people.

It says to trust only those who believe that Jesus is
a Messiah sent by God. Anybody can follow that.
It's pretty much what every religious sect tells its
members -- don't listen to those outside our sect.

But, how can you possibly test what I will call
"a voice in your head" in this manner? And,
where does 1 John 4 say that this is what
anybody is supposed to do?

I said what I meant. "If a spirit lies, it is not from (of)
God".

That's how it is described in 1 John 4:1 as well.

Meaning a Man has a spirit but he/she is not God,
but he CAN speak and what he says can be
"Of/from" God.

Every test has a right and wrong answer. A
statement is either true or it is false. It's
like a litmus test where there is only one
right answer.

Ignorance is not a sin. Doing something even
though you know it is wrong, IS!

That's why there are commandments. So that
people don't make the same mistakes over and
over, again and again.

Funny that you should say that. Because there are
those that I would sooner trust, that don't believe
in Jesus Christ. They don't really even know what
all the fuss is about.

First of all it's not in your head, it's in your
heart. That's probably the best test of all.
Is where it originates from. Because if it IS
in your head, then you got REAL problems.

Possession is 9/10ths of the Law.

The things I see happening before my eyes.
Not only in my life, but in the lives of others
too as the events of 2012 unfold around us.
I'm seeing God working directly and purposefully
in many peoples lives. Shaping them, and
molding them beyond their wildest hopes and
dreams.
Indeed, "those that have an ear, let them hear."
Cause God is talking to you directly, all you
have to do, is what he says. 2012 is going to
change the course of human history. I can feel
it, I can see it. The Millennium is right around
the bend.
bd4u.utah
And how do you know it isn't the devil?
"Those that have an ear, let them hear."
You don't have to believe me, ask God yourself.
bd4u.utah
And how do I know it is God answering me, and not the Devil?
1 John 4:1
1 John 4 is about living people and offers a test
for discerning believers from non-believers
-- it does not offer a test regarding communications
one thinks is coming from either God or the Devil.
It says to "try (test) the spirits" All spirits are living,
some are just not in the flesh, and not all are men.
What works for one works for the other as well.
Am I correct to assume then that you *are* claiming
that this test is one that is intended to be used to
verify direct communication from God to yourself?
If so, what is this test, exactly?
How do you test if somebody is lying?
You find out if they are telling the truth.
True or False, Yes or No, it's as simple
as that.
If a Spirit lies, it's not from God. God does not
lie. He may not reveal the whole truth, but he
doesn't lie, and he is NEVER, EVER, WRONG!
bd4u.utah
So, when the Creator of gay persons says to you that He created ALL
man to His own image, you disregard it because YOU are of the opinion
that gays are perverts and therefor the Spirit must be lying.
I see your logic.......
Dude, yer so full of it. Don't put yer faulty logic
and yer stinking Bigertry on me. It don't fit!
Cheers.. ;-)
bd4u.utah
Uh oh, you revealed yerself. Only demons pretending to be people use
yer that much. (Which I use merely to make a point like the one on top
of your head.)

I didn't say it did. But it has everything to do
with the stars, and Genesis is very clear about
their purpose. You and Debra can deny it all
you want, but it's the truth.

There is a reason for every season, and the 2012
alignment is NO different in that regards. While
the fact that it hasn't happened since the dawn
of man makes it very special.

The effects will be 100's of times more powerful
than that of the full moon on this world in ways
mankind can only imagine.

Wow. Ok. The passage is obviously about stars, but MANY civilizations
developed sophisticated astronomy systems. Even in societies that
didn't, the stars were still observed to mark the passing of the
seasons. It was especially important to us as humans when we
transitioned from hunter-gatherer societies to agriculture. The stars
can say when to plant, when to harvest etc.

However, the passage says NOTHING beyond that.

"Ge:1:14: And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the
heaven to divide the day from the night;"

That's the creation of the stellar bodies in the heavens.

"and let them be for signs,
and for seasons, and for days, and years:"

Again, the stars and positions of the planets were used to denote when
to plant, when to harvest, when the year had passed. Events like an
eclipse had great spiritual meaning to ancient peoples as well.

No where do they mention that the mayan calendar, something the
writers of the bible would have NO way of knowing about. Even if you
take the word "signs" to mean a prophecy, there is no supporting
evidence to state that the 2012 conjunction is any different from the
many other rare astronomical events that have happened over the years.

There is a reason for every season, and the 2012
alignment is NO different in that regards. While
the fact that it hasn't happened since the dawn
of man makes it very special.
You are literally freaking out over an eclipse and a mistranslation.

I didn't say it did. But it has everything to do
with the stars, and Genesis is very clear about
their purpose. You and Debra can deny it all
you want, but it's the truth.
Wow.

2012? Don't tell me you believe the Mayan hype.. I can tell you as
someone who has spent YEARS studying their civilization that it is
bullshit.
Thank you for a voice of reason (even though it cries out in a

Ge:1:14: And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the

*facepalm* I see that even trying to educate you on this subject is
pointless.
When 2013 rolls around and nothing big or important happens, I reserve
the right to say "I told you so".
Just like the Full Moon, the effects of 2012 fall
before, AND after. 2012 simply marks the apex
of the event, not the complete event.

There has already been significant change, if you
can't see it, or sense it. It's simply because you
are not in tune with it.

How much do you know about the I Ching?
How much do you know about the Tarot card
of Death? How much do you know about
what the Five Fingers of the I Ching represent?

It's all about Change, and anybody who doesn't
change, may as well be dead.

As the Tao would express it, it's all about
swimming with the current, instead of against
it!

Sir Peter
It was FAITH in God that the man
knew his Garden would grow. Did the
man make the sun shine and produce
photosynthesis? Did the man cause the
rain to fall?

It was a miracle of faith that grew the
mans Garden, all he did was plant the
seed and pull out the weeds. God did
all the rest!

Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.

Belief and Morals is claimed to be too
politically incorrect. So they don't teach it.
Take away belief in God and what is left?
NATIONALISM is the only belief left!
Hehh, go figure, cause it's what we now
got instead!

There is something to be said for not trying
to second guess your fate. It's best to leave
such things alone, so as not to make a fatal
miscalculation, or mistake.
If you trust God, and follow his
commandments then all you really
need is FAITH!
Faith doesn't grow food. It doesn't do anything.
A man bought a house. The garden was non-existing, a complete mess. So
the man did a hell of a job and within a month he had a very nice
garden.
Then his pastor came by and said to the man: "With God's help you have
made something beautiful out of nothing!"
The man answered: "Did you see how it was when God took care of it all
by Himself?"
Sir Peter
It was FAITH in God that the man
knew his Garden would grow. Did the
man make the sun shine and produce
photosynthesis? Did the man cause the
rain to fall?
It was a miracle of faith that grew the
mans Garden, all he did was plant the
seed and pull out the weeds. God did
all the rest!
Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.
Belief and Morals is claimed to be too
politically incorrect. So they don't teach it.
Take away belief in God and what is left?
NATIONALISM is the only belief left!
Hehh, go figure, cause it's what we now
got instead!

Ya know, I'm glad I live in Utah. It's one of
the few places in the US where belief in God
is a community response, and not just an
isolated pocket of resistance. And I'm not
just talking Mormon Religion either. There
are all factions of Religion thriving here.

Within a two Block radius of Salt Lake City
Hall you can find Mormon, Buddhist, Christian,
Jewish, and yes even Scientology. It's a
GREAT place to be, if you believe in God!

Perhaps you could explain the following then:

Suicide is a major public health problem in Utah. Suicide was the
leading cause of injury-related death and the third leading cause of
hospitalizations for all ages in Utah from 2008-2010. Suicide is the
2nd leading cause of death for Utah teens ages 15-19, and the 4th
leading cause of death for Utah adults ages 20-64. On average,

22 Utah teens ages 15-19 die from sucide each year.
Two Utah teens ages 15-19 are treated in the emergency department or
hospitalized every day because of suicide attempts.
319 Utah adults ages 20-64 die from suicide each year.
Eight Utahns 20-64 years of age are treated in the emergency
department or hospitalized every day because of suicide attempts.
35 Utahns 65 years and older die from suicide each year.
One Utahn 65 years or older is treated in the emergency department or
hospitalized every week because of a suicide attempt.
Utah's suicide rate has been consistently higher than the U.S. rate
for the last decade. A recent CDC study found that Utah had the
highest prevalance of suicidal thoughts among adults in the U.S.

It's called a "moral conscience". Some people
can't live with themselves once they have it, and
then lose it! LDS are raised to have a "moral
conscience", when they do something that
conflicts with that "moral conscience" it is often
hard for people to face the consequences.

The standards are so high, that it becomes
a long way up from the bottom.

It's a self perception, that one has done
something so grievous that it can't be forgiven.
When in truth it CAN be forgiven, and is forgiven
quite often.

It's sad that people can develop such a self
perception, when it is really unnecessary.
Part of the fault lies in the Doctrinal beliefs
of the LDS. But that same doctrinal belief
can also be found in many Christian Religions.

They set themselves up for failure by forgetting
they are human, and as humans NEED
repentance, and forgiveness. Too much emphasis
gets placed upon the "atonement"

Just to be clear. I don't read Tarot, and I don't

There is something to be said for not trying
to second guess your fate. It's best to leave
such things alone, so as not to make a fatal
miscalculation, or mistake.
If you trust God, and follow his
commandments then all you really
need is FAITH!
Faith doesn't grow food. It doesn't do anything.
A man bought a house. The garden was non-existing, a complete mess. So
the man did a hell of a job and within a month he had a very nice
garden.
Then his pastor came by and said to the man: "With God's help you have
made something beautiful out of nothing!"
The man answered: "Did you see how it was when God took care of it all
by Himself?"
Sir Peter
It was FAITH in God that the man
knew his Garden would grow. Did the
man make the sun shine and produce
photosynthesis? Did the man cause the
rain to fall?
It was a miracle of faith that grew the
mans Garden, all he did was plant the
seed and pull out the weeds. God did
all the rest!
Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.
Belief and Morals is claimed to be too
politically incorrect. So they don't teach it.
Take away belief in God and what is left?
NATIONALISM is the only belief left!
Hehh, go figure, cause it's what we now
got instead!

Ya know, I'm glad I live in Utah. It's one of
the few places in the US where belief in God
is a community response, and not just an
isolated pocket of resistance. And I'm not
just talking Mormon Religion either. There
are all factions of Religion thriving here.
Within a two Block radius of Salt Lake City

Jewish, and yes even Scientology. It's a
GREAT place to be, if you believe in God!

Suicide is a major public health problem in Utah. Suicide was the

2nd leading cause of death for Utah teens ages 15-19, and the 4th

22 Utah teens ages 15-19 die from sucide each year.
Two Utah teens ages 15-19 are treated in the emergency department or

319 Utah adults ages 20-64 die from suicide each year.
Eight Utahns 20-64 years of age are treated in the emergency

35 Utahns 65 years and older die from suicide each year.
One Utahn 65 years or older is treated in the emergency department or

Utah's suicide rate has been consistently higher than the U.S. rate

It's called a "moral conscience". Some people

hard for people to face the consequences.
This is true with most people.

Just to be clear. I don't read Tarot, and I don't
toss coins in the air, but it doesn't mean I don't
understand the mechanics of how such things
work.
So you know how they work? That IS superstition.

There is something to be said for not trying
to second guess your fate. It's best to leave
such things alone, so as not to make a fatal
miscalculation, or mistake.
If you trust God, and follow his
commandments then all you really
need is FAITH!
Faith doesn't grow food. It doesn't do anything.
A man bought a house. The garden was non-existing, a complete mess. So
the man did a hell of a job and within a month he had a very nice
garden.
Then his pastor came by and said to the man: "With God's help you have
made something beautiful out of nothing!"
The man answered: "Did you see how it was when God took care of it all
by Himself?"
Sir Peter
It was FAITH in God that the man
knew his Garden would grow. Did the
man make the sun shine and produce
photosynthesis? Did the man cause the
rain to fall?
It was a miracle of faith that grew the
mans Garden, all he did was plant the
seed and pull out the weeds. God did
all the rest!
Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.
The miracles of the universe and nature are evident, but it doesn't
offer ANY proof for the existence of a God.
Post by bd4u.utah
Belief and Morals is claimed to be too
politically incorrect. So they don't teach it.
Take away belief in God and what is left?
NATIONALISM is the only belief left!
Hehh, go figure, cause it's what we now
got instead!
You forget all the good people that are atheists, humanists or have
chosen for agnosticism. Thinking ONLY nationalism is left is rather
limited, don't you think?

Religion was the front. Pepper was one of the causes. Nobody would
fight for pepper, important as it was to medieval Europe. So they
drummed up the excuse to liberate the tomb of Christ from the Saracens.

That, plus they wanted to sack Jerusalem
and get hold of the writings of the Jews.
They had to use it to prop up Christianity
with. Funny how the Kabbalah didn't appear
in the Western World until AFTER the
Crusades. Neither did the Christian Bible.

Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.
No. Superstition is a belief in supernatural causality: that one event
leads to the cause of another without any process in the physical
world linking the two events. Sounds an awful lot like religion.

It is no wonder that Christians demanded intelligent design be taught

Leave religion to the churches and families.. it has NO place in our

2012? Don't tell me you believe the Mayan hype.. I can tell you as
someone who has spent YEARS studying their civilization that it is
bullshit.
Thank you for a voice of reason (even though it cries out in a

Just like the Full Moon, the effects of 2012 fall

There has already been significant change, if you
can't see it, or sense it. It's simply because you
are not in tune with it.

I find it strange that bashing people is
what some people on usenet consider
entertainment. They deludingly think
that just because they can't be seen,
or known by their given name they are
not known by others. Truth is, the worst
in them becomes known. You probably
wouldn't recognize them if you met them

in public.

But, shsshhh I won't tell anyone if you

What is my pet's name?

I honestly wonder sometimes if human beings are prisoners of their own
mind with regards to religion. Here me out a sec. I really don't have
the background in psychology and psychological development to fully
flesh this out, so i apologize if it seems silly.

We are pattern recognition machines. Flat out. Even if there isn't
one, we will search for one until we can wrap our feeble little minds
around an object or idea. Now, obviously some of us are better than
others at it. Some of us apply varying degrees of logic to the pattern
recognitions, developing wild conspiracy theories to explain something
that occam's razor would otherwise eliminate. Still others fall flat,
unable to connect the dots for whatever reason.

What if the reliance of the easy answer of "god did it" is a throwback
to when we lacked the analytical skills to fully comprehend a given
object/idea. There are people who become fully consumed and
overwhelmed by the act of pattern detection, so we know there is
pathology within that part of our development. Perhaps religion was a
kind of early occam's razor... providing a simple explanation that
every day people could swallow.

With an answer that they can accept, most people move on. They don't
ponder the intricacies the idea... they want a basic answer so they
can move on to the next problem. Many don't WANT to ponder beyond that
first basic answer, completely shunning the "why". They literally
stick their heads in the sand so they can continue to function. lol I
was kicked out of Bible class as a small child for asking "why". It
was literally anathema to the woman.. she seized up the second that
innocent question passed my 5 year old lips. Years later I joked that
my simple question forced her brain to try and divide by zero.

Granted I think there is a lot more to the psychological fulfillment
of religion than this but... it was something that I had pondered as
of late.

I met a lot of people who were.... very sick when I was growing up. I
suppose its wishful thinking on my part to want to figure out in
exactly what way any given person's brain broke, but...

I have people I care about very much who suffer from serious mental
illness. I don't want to see anyone suffer from it... even assholes.

Yeah, I took some psych as well and talked with a lot of therapists
and psychiatrists when I attended my loved ones' counseling sessions.
Doesn't give me the insight I need in this regard tho. Heh

I think we HAD a therapist on here (ars) at one point, I wonder where
they went. Hmm. Ah well.

If you are referring to wanting to do what is right,
and not always succeeding. Well yes I guess
you might consider that a dual personality.

On the other hand, I couldn't righteously justify
the alternative. I actually have a moral conscience,
and I intend on keeping it, and not waste it.

It's hard to believe, but some people actually
lose their moral conscience after long periods
of giving in to immoral conduct. I refuse to be
one of them.

one, we will search for one until we can wrap our feeble little minds
around an object or idea.
Granted I think there is a lot more to the psychological fulfillment
of religion than this but... it was something that I had pondered as
of late.
As you have said and have thus proven, you "really don't have
the background in psychology and psychological development to fully
flesh this out,..."
Not my area of expertise. It is something that I've wondered tho, if
it was related to our pattern recognition and are subsequent
defenses. /shrug

There are shelters in all major cities. Even in our small villiage
there is a house that transits can live in for a limited time. We
also have shelters for the homeless. Perhaps there are not enough of
such support, but I think people do the best they can. Thousands of
animals are euthanized every year, we don't do that to
humans,.....yet. Perhaps your God could do more than He is!

sexually active unmarried
female,
Please do spit out what you are trying to insinuate, little man. There
is absolutely nothing wrong with being sexually active outside of
marriage so long as people are responsible (which I have been).

As for the married statement- according to the state of PA, my love
and I are already married and have been for some time. The "wedding"
ceremony this spring is for our friends and family (and taxes). Go
look up Quaker Unity ceremonies.. they are also valid for atheists and
other faiths in this state. So grats on insinuating a technically
married woman is of loose moral character for sleeping with her

2012? Don't tell me you believe the Mayan hype.. I can tell you as
someone who has spent YEARS studying their civilization that it is
bullshit.
Thank you for a voice of reason (even though it cries out in a
wilderness of stupidity).

Or his faith in Miracle-gro. It's just wonderful for a veggie garden.
My eggplants were the size of my forearm this year!

It was a miracle of faith that grew the
mans Garden, all he did was plant the
seed and pull out the weeds. God did
all the rest!
Science explains all of that just fine, thanks.

Superstition- believing in something you
don't understand. That is why there is so
much disbelief in the world. Because they
simply don't understand the miracles of
God and his creation. It's something they
no longer teach people in public school.
No. Superstition is a belief in supernatural causality: that one event
leads to the cause of another without any process in the physical
world linking the two events. Sounds an awful lot like religion.

Belief and Morals is claimed to be too
politically incorrect. So they don't teach it.
Take away belief in God and what is left?
NATIONALISM is the only belief left!
Hehh, go figure, cause it's what we now
got instead!
bd4u.utah
They do not teach religion in schools because they would have to teach
ALL religion in schools or NONE. Which do you think costs the
government less?
It is no wonder that Christians demanded intelligent design be taught
in schools but withdrew their demand when told the Flying Spaghetti
Monster creation story would have to be taught along side it. They
didn't want diversity, they wanted THEIR religion taught!
Leave religion to the churches and families.. it has NO place in our
public school systems.
Spoken like a TRUE Unbeliever. Then you
wonder how I know you so well? Simple,
it comes out yer mouth!
"From out of the mouth the heart doth speak."

The things I see happening before my eyes.
Not only in my life, but in the lives of others
too as the events of 2012 unfold around us.
I'm seeing God working directly and purposefully
in many peoples lives. Shaping them, and
molding them beyond their wildest hopes and
dreams.
Indeed, "those that have an ear, let them hear."
Cause God is talking to you directly, all you
have to do, is what he says. 2012 is going to
change the course of human history. I can feel
it, I can see it. The Millennium is right around
the bend.

Ya know, if it were not for the belief in "Shekhinah",
I might believe you!

And because of Shekhinah I don't!

May peace be with you..

Amen to that!

I am not lazy, it is only because of
my continuing effort towards God that
Shekinah even bothers to speak to me.
And yes, I know that, and I can tell when
I am without. The world grows cold, hopeless
and helpless without the experience of
Shekinah.

When Jesus Christ left, he left others
with the knowledge, and understanding
of Shekinah (Holy Ghost, Tao) After all
Jesus was a Jew. Whom better to teach
the Gentiles of God's Divine Presence upon
the earth.

See I recognize where the teachings originated
and I give the Jews full credit for it. It's sad that
most Christians think they own Shekinah, because
they don't. But neither do the Jews. Shekinah is
NOT something that can be "owned" It is and has
been shared by many peoples.

God is not a politician. God does not care which
religion or philosophy you may belong to. God is
interested in ALL mankind, and not just a few.

Most churches I have attended seem to think God cared very much which
religion one may belong to! Theirs!

It was very good of you to point out the
Talmud. So few people do! Without the
Talmud, Judaism is not fully understood.
